Administrator View PCP prior to approval
October 15, 2012, 10:27:47 am
I have my PCP pages set up to require admin approval. But as an admin I can't see any details (beyond the contact that set up the page) for the page until I approve it.

Pressing the edit button or view button only gets me the error:
The personal campaign page you requested is currently unavailable. However you can still support the campaign by making a contribution here.

Is there any way, when signed in as an administrator, to preview a PCP page you haven't approved. (I'd like to screen for things like curse words etc.) It seems odd that there is the ability to approve with no ability to preview.

Hi Rachel,

I tried this on the demo site, and on my own install, and I was able to view the page by clicking on the page's "Page Title"

Are you certain that you have all of your Joomla ACL permissions checked for your role?

Hope this helps, please keep us updated.

Cheers,
Jason

p.s. Something else I have had some success with is using Word replacement to make sure that no profanity slips through the cracks. That way if you do end up having to approve them to see the page, the profanity does not go live.

I see, thank you, it does work now. I got confused when I was testing, because I was using a page that I had 'rejected', when you click on a rejected page's title, that does not preview the page. But that's not as much of a concern as one awaiting review. Thanks for your quick answer.

I take the above statement back, it only worked because I had created the PCP while logged in as admin, so it let me preview my own page. I still cannot preview someone else's. I checked my Joomla access controls and everything is set to allowed for Super Users. I copied the one ACL the demo had set, for administrators to be able to edit all contacts. And I still get the same error when I click the page title: The personal campaign page you requested is currently unavailable. However you can still support the campaign by making a contribution here.
