Deadlock ?
October 16, 2012, 02:17:00 pm
Hi

Looking for some advice. We want to process bounces and optionally requests via mail.
Our mail provider (OVH)
 - does not support VERP addressing,
 - has disabled the catch-all account (catch-all->delete)
 - their smtp server rewrites the Return-Path: header to an OVH address, so we'll never get any bounces anyway
 - blocks outgoing port 20095 (so we cant use civismtp)
 - it blocks port 25 too (cant use any other smtp service)

I dont want to switch mail provider - it is tightly tied into the clients office setup.
I could switch web provider - a lot of unforeseen work.

Is there any hope ?

sounding desperate,
*-pike

Can use a slightly different domain variant for MX / mass mailing and process there?

Yes that would appear to be the only solution--get another hosting provider or machine and use a different domain name to process bounces.
