Confirmation not being sent - Using Paypal Standard
October 18, 2012, 09:04:15 am
I am running Civicrm 2.1, Drupal 6. We only use this system twice a year and had been working great until lately that the confirmation email stopped working and all transactions remain pending.

I have followed all similar problems reported but unable to resolve this problem for over two weeks now. I did not made any changes to the system, no upgrade or changes in code. I add a new event which was a copy of a successful event from last year with one additional new field.

This is the Notification URL from Paypal
 http:/[mysite]/events/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/ipn.php?reset=1&contactID=102&contributionID=245&module=event&eventID=16&participantID=304

when I put this in a URL I get "Failure: Missing Parameter". I receive receipt from Paypal for the transaction, but nothing from CiviCRM. The IPN status in Paypal is "Retrying" and HTTP Response Code is blank.

I will appreciate any assistance.

Hi. I have no idea what the issue might be, but I can say that CiviCRM 2.1 was last released Feb 2009, so it's quite old. While it may not be likely, Paypal may have changed their API since then. Or perhaps your server has updated PHP and something changed.

I would consider upgrading your CiviCRM.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have tried that previously, but my hosting provider did not meet the requirements for CiviCRM 4.X. I have been able to install 3.X where the email is working.
