Author Topic: How critical is the upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2? (Read 1537 times)

We don't use Civi year-round, so I don't often follow the upgrade path very smoothly. Yesterday I noticed we are still running 4.1.1. I attempted to upgrade to 4.2.3 but discovered that our host is not running an up-to-date version of PHP.

How important is it for us to run 4.2.3 (now 4.2.4)? Should I push our host to upgrade PHP?

I'm sorry to ask this here, but I haven't been able to find any release notes.

There was also security releases after 4.1.1:

In general we recommend keeping up to date with releases as much as possible. Even if you don't need the new / improved features - being on a recent release makes it more likely that others can help out if you have a problem. I would definitely push your host on the PHP version issue.
