Export contacts fails with no error

Try to export a contact using primary fields and nothing is exported.  no errors in watchdog, civicrmlog or PHP log.  Any ideas how to track this down?  Mod_security on hosting co?

Could be mod_security I suppose. How many contacts is it? Try with a small number to make sure it's not a CPU or memory issue.
