October 21, 2012, 09:02:01 pm
Hello all,
I have installed CiviCRM on all available CMS platforms before for my Clients
but this time I am having a difficulty.

I just installed Joomla 3.0.1 and I must say Joomla guys have done really gr8 work.
Now I tried to install CiviCRM 4.2.4 on Joomla 3.0 but it show error.

Detailed Procedure I did:
Joomla 3.0 Administrator Dashboard >> Extensions >> Extension Manager >> Install from URL

then I entered URL <sourceforgelink>/project/civicrm/civicrm-stable/4.2.4/civicrm-4.2.4-joomla.zip

after clicking on install button I got this Error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method JRegistry::getValue() in /home/vmcom/public_html/tmp/install_5084c48bde8a9/com_civicrm/admin/configure.php on line 72

Thank for your taking out time to go through it.

CiviCRM 4.2 is compatible with J2.5
I suspect we'll look at making 4.3 compatible with J3.0, but that version is pretty new, and is not a long-term stable release, so it's a bit less of a priority.

Unzip the package in your ../tmp folder which creates a com_civicrm folder.  Then from
Joomla 3.0 Administrator Dashboard >> Extensions >> Extension Manager >> Install from Dir
and modify the path to point to the com_civicrm folder...click install.
