I have adjusted the settings for my Name and Address profile to email me if a contact updates them. Unfortunately when I log in as a typical member, this results in the following error when I try to update my Name or Address:

The requested Profile (gid=1) is disabled OR it is not configured to be used for 'Profile' listings in its Settings OR there is no Profile with that ID OR you do not have permission to access this profile. Please contact the site administrator if you need assistance.

If I remove the email address the problem goes away. I have tried adjusting Drupal permissions as well as civiCRM permissions for the fileds in the profile but nothing helps.

This is a new installation of civiCRM on a new Drupal 7 website. It was running civiCRM 4.1.3 but I though it may have been the reason so I have updated it to civiCRM 4.2.4. Still same issue.

Any ideas?

RESOLVED:

Just in case someone else runs into this issue, here's what I found.

The problem was a Drupal/civiCRM permissions issue that becomes evident when the hook to send the email is called. The permission for "CiviCRM: profile listings and forms" needed to be allowed for the member type that was receiving the error. Once that was set, everything was working the way it should.
