Question on Dashboard showing users groups.
October 25, 2012, 08:35:40 am
Hi,

I am using Civicrm 4.2.4 (latest) - and Joomla 2.5.7.  I am exposing the contact dashboard on the frontend using a menu item.  All the data is showing, except the groups that the user is in.

I have added a user to a static group - and I am expecting this to be shown on the dashboard (it's not showing on frontend or backend)

So I believe I am doing something wrong, and there must be a difference between subscribed to a group, and being added to a group.

Can someone help or point me to some information to get users to show up in the groups section on the dashboard.

Thanks
Corey

1. is the group public?

2. what is the url (task option only), just to ensure we are talking about the same dashboard :)

Ok seems I didn't have it public.  When I read the documentation it said this -

Select 'User and User Admin Only' if joining this group is controlled by authorized CiviCRM users only. If you want to allow contacts to join and remove themselves from this group via the Registration and Account Profile forms, select 'Public Pages'.

So I understood this to be if I don't want them to control join/remove actions - then don't use public, but it will still show in a read-only way.

In anycase - It's showing now.

thanks
Corey
