new civicrm 4.2.4 installation - check requirements - howto disable xcache
October 26, 2012, 09:06:16 am
Need some help resolving preinstallation checks of civi 4.2.4 on fresh drupal 7-14 installation

XCache compatibility - posts on inet suggest disabling it but I'm not sure
1.what exactly to change? I tried setting xcache.size=0 in 3 diff conf files.
2. where ?  I found some xcache.ini files (1./etc/php5/apache2/conf.d 2. /etc/php5/conf.d 3. /etc/php5/cli/conf.d )
3.  do I need to restart any services after to make initiate changes?

Civicrm Mentee seeking Mentors :)  I'm starting with book.

My first Civicrm project will be converting our non profits 12 year old Imis 3.5.8 database to civicrm.

Yes, xcache.size=0 should disable Xcache

I am not familiar with TurnKeyLinux so I can't say for sure which .ini file you need, but if you did all 3, you should be OK. :)

You need to restart Apache after that change.

Thanks Hershel,

I was unable to turn it off in a config file so I uninstalled xcache all together...

sudo apt-get remove php5-xcache

I'm only using this server for civicrm anyway so I don't think it harmed anything else.
