  I want civicrm update membership status from 'new' to 'current' after 7 days.  Anyone know how to do that?

Thanks,

Take a look at Membership Status - you can set how long each 'period' lasts.

Hope that is all you need by way of pointer.

Hello rshun,

Go to Administer-->CiviMemeber--membership status rules.
From here you can edit any of the Membership statuses by selecting edit. Once you have selected Edit, you are taken to a screen where you can change the status's Label, Start event, Adjustment, etc. In your case, you would Edit "new",set the start event as Start Date, then give it an adjustment of 7 days. then configure the end event as current. Then select save.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
Jason
