Standard vs additional Civi modules
October 27, 2012, 04:19:13 am
Hi there,

I've installed the current CiviCRM for Joomla 2.5 and in the administrator drop-down menu is a bunch of items such as Civi Contribute, Event, Mail, Member and Report.  Off the top of my head, CiviSMS is one that isn't there.

Am I safe to assume that the listed items are indeed fully installed?  (I suspect so.)

And also, is there a proper list of other extensions that one might like to install, such as CiviSMS?

Andrew

CiviSMS is not a separate module per se. Its part of the standard distribution.

Mass SMS is part of the CiviMail menu and send SMS is attached to a contact action if you have an SMS provider

Much appreciated.

And it does kinda make sense to have it as part of the mail section of CiviCRM.
