Employee relationship not showing as current employer
October 29, 2012, 06:12:33 am
If a new individual is created while under the "Add New Relationship" portion of an organization, that organization does not show up as the employer under the "Summary" view of the individual. However, the relationship does exist...it just doesn't transfer to all the fields.

Hello ryeradio,

Tested this on the demo site. Created a new individual under the Add New Relationship portion, and when I went to the contact's summary page, the employer showed properly. (see screen shot)

Not sure if this is a bug in versions prior to the current demo version, however, it seems to work fine there.

Cheers,
Jason

quick addition, might not be obvious but in the later additions there is a check box on the add relationship form that appears when the relationship is employee which allows you to specify whether or not this relationship should be used for CURRENT employer (see attached screenshot)

I'm having the same issue. Civi 4.2.1, only on certain contacts, I can't seem to find the commonality.

Here is an example: A contact with an active, enabled membership relationship. Summary page does not display the current employer, but upon looking at the source, you can see it actually does, but does not enter anything in the link text.

We're not overriding summary.tpl...

Any ideas?

I would recommend upgrading to the latest stable CiviCRM 4.2 release and check if that fixes it for you.
