Participants are being randomly removed without notice or reason
October 31, 2012, 10:50:07 am
I made a task in JIRA for this, but apparently they don't support older verions, my mistake.  Here it is anyways -  issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-11191

Quote
Drupal 6 + CiviCRM 3.4.8 on a linux box.
We are having problems with participants being dropped from the event without any action on our part.
Their contact records stay intact, but are altered to remove them from their event.
No evidence of these removals in the database or the logs.

It does not happen on a daily or hourly basis, but maybe something closer to a weekly basis. We believe the last time this happened was between the hours of Saturday 8AM to Sunday 8AM. Cron runs hourly, but we believe it is still something related to a cron action as all administrators have been blocked until this is resolved.

I took notice that it might be related to people registering multiple participants, as a noticed removal of participants were people that were registered using the multiple participants function.

Any ideas?

To clarify, the current release (4.2) is supported as far as bug fixes. New features go into trunk (currently 4.3).
We recommend you upgrade to that version (there is a download for D6) as it may fix your issue. Incidentally there are also security fixes in 4.2 which affect 3.4.
You will probably wish to test your upgrade on a copy of your site before doing it on the live server.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.

I remember a but on multiple participants where an action on the first "master" participant had an impact on the other that registered on the same "batch". This has been fixed.

As Coleman said, you should upgrade to the latest version available

Thanks for the updates. I need to upgrade my PHP and MySQL before upgrading, that is why I haven't done it.

Time to get cracking, thanks!
