Hosting at InfoQuest. Windows/IIS, PHP5.2.3, Joomla 1.0.12.

Install went OK. I can see Civicrm Home & CiviEvents. When I try to do anything, I get a variety of error of this type. Here are my errors:

Warning: Smarty error: problem creating directory 'C:/inetpub' in C:\inetpub\vhosts\ojfsda.org\httpdocs\joomla\administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\packages\Smarty\Smarty.class.php on line 1095

I am getting similar errors on this post - http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,2750.0.html
I believe it has something to do with the server hosting company and default directory permissions. The default new directories are created with 644 permissions.
I got around this by manually applying 777 permissions to the civicrm folders referenced. This is not working for everything though - my event thank yous are not working
