Lobo -- I just want to say thanks for this fix!  Tore my hair out trying to figure out why the unsubscribe wouldn't work, and realized after digging around in the forums that my dynamically generated theme home page was the culprit because as a "page" it doesn't exist.  Set the new base page & it's beautiful!
