Author Topic: Custom Data - Can't find where to change style from "Tab" to "Inline" (Read 912 times)

I have 5 different custom data sets in CiviCRM 4.2.4. One data set is set to "Tab" for it's style. Is there anyway that I can modify this data set so that it is "Inline" like the others?

The reason for this, is this data set is for some reason not showing up when we click "view" on a persons event registration for event registrations which are using a profile which has this custom data set assigned to it.

The Tab/Inline is only going to affect fields that are set for Contaction (indiv, org etc) and will only show when you are looking at the Contact's results.

What sort of fields are you talking about. Contact or Participant?

If Contact then they won't show when you 'view' the Participant record - they will only show on the Contact record afaik

These fields are assigned as "Participant" fields on a profile, which is then assigned to an event.

I didn't know that tab/inline would have any affect on Participant fieldsets - sorry not sure I can help unless I am misunderstanding something. Some screenshots might help make the penny drop

Here is a screenshot of the "Tab" on one of the data sets. Attached. I guess my issue is, that I just don't know where I can change it to inline. As when it is set to "Tab" it doesn't seem to be showing up under the participants registration.

I also changed my last post above. they are assigned as participant fields to a profile, which is then assigned to the particular civicrm event called "Media".

for 'media' click on 'more' (far right) then 'settings' - that is where you can set tab/inline. hth

There is no setting under "More" -> "Settings" for inline/tab. Maybe it has been moved in newer versions?

So I am wondering how you got that Fieldset using Tab in the first instance?

If you look here on a Contact fieldset you will see the option

If you look here on a Participant fieldset it does not exist
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/custom/group?action=update&reset=1&id=2

Hence wondering how you get it set to Tab in the first place.

Did you change this set of fields after setting it up?

Do you have access to your Database - i would expect you could just change it there - with usual riders about doing backups etc

Thanks for pointing this out. I did not realize it was only supposed to be available for Contacts. I did make changes to this field set after it was setup and after people had already submitted information. I guess it is possible that I have found some sort of bug or have broken the field set? And this would make sense why non of the fields are showing up when we click "view" on the participants registration.

I do have access to the database. Would you know which table I would look for?

I ended up re-creating the data set. Re-assigning the data set to profile, and this time it created as inline. Thanks again for your help on pointing out that data set inline/tab setting is not available on participant assigned data sets.
