Any Progress on Multiple Dates?

I've seen a few feeds on here with requests about allowing multiple/recurring dates with the Events portion of CiviCRM... does anyone have knowledge as to whether some progress has been made?

there is at least one drupal modules that helps facilitate this: http://drupal.org/project/civicrm_multiday_event

There is also a CiviCRM MIH for this: http://civicrm.org/content/make-it-happen#recurevent

hopefully the MIH will come close to its goal for the 4.4 release. Would be great if A2Hosting could help with a generous contribution to the make it happen :)
