Export contact created date?

I'm trying to export all our contacts names along with the dates that they were initially entered into civiCRM. Basically I need to be able to see how many contacts have joined month by month. Does anyone know a way to do this?

Hello jethro.laidlaw,

I think that the only way this might be accomplished is to set up a custom field for the date that your contact is entered into your CiviCRM. Make it searchable, perform an advanced search, and export the results.

You could also set it up as a Lifetime membership. Then you could go to Memberships-->Find memberships. then export the resulte. the start date would reflect the day that they were entered.
