How to add duplicated contacts without showing 'matching contacts were found'
November 11, 2012, 05:34:00 am
I want to users to add contacts for their own, but it shows 'matching contacts were found' when there's duplicate contact.

How can I bypass this warning?

Hello rogical,

Go to Administer-->Customize Data and Screens-->Profiles. Now find the Name and Address profile. select Settings, then scroll down to Advanced Settings. Scroll down to "What to do upon duplicate match" and tick the "Allow duplicate contact to be created" option. Finally, select save.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Jason

also, if you aren't yet familiar with the Duplicate matching rules - check what your Individual Strict Default rule is set to (under the Contacts menu item) - just in case it is set too broadly for you - it may work better to have a more specific rule so real dupes are still picked up
