Putting a link to my CiviEvent on our frontpage
March 10, 2008, 01:04:28 pm
I apologize in advance if this addressed elsewhere. I looked through the CiviCRM documentation and this forum - it's possible I missed it.

I'm running our site on joomla and CiviCRM (www.brewbeagles.org is the URL).

Anyway, I have created an event and it's active and all....and now I need to send an email to everyone with a link to the Event Info/Registration page. But what's the link? How do I find that?

Also - I need to put a News post on our frontpage and direct folks to the Event Info/Registration page - but I don't know how to do that. Ok, I know how to put a News post up - but not the URl or the link to the event page.

Can anyone provide guidance? I'm sorry I can't figure this out - I'm not a developer so I'm just struggling.

Thanks!

Laura

Lobo,

You're wonderful! Figured it out, thanks! People are registering as we type.

Another quick question - the list of registrants on the backend shows the number of people who have registered...but doesn't show the field of "How many people are coming" in each group.  For example, a woman signs up (counts as 1 in CiviEvent) but she's bringing her husband and 3 kids. So really- there are 5 people coming. How do I get CiviEvent to show the fields I need it to show?

Or do I need to run a report of some sort for that?

As I understand it, CiviEvent counts registration records.  I'm guessing that you added a custom field to indicate the # attending.  You can select all your registrations and export them to get a listing of the values in that custom field.

How do I configure the exported file to show the custom fields? If you can provide guidance, it would be appreciated!

When you export, all data is exported, including custom fields.

Have a look at Exporting Data and post again if it doesn't make sense.
