Use of capcha on this site for authenticated users
November 16, 2012, 07:20:59 am
I hate to whinge but I am not clear as to why certain forms on this web site (eg http://civicrm.org/civicrm/event/register?id=253&reset=1 for registering at the upcoming London user group meeting) need to use capcha on the form even for authenticated users?
Obviously, I can understand the need for capcha for unauthenticated users, to save the site from being spammed, but surely this is not really necessary for an authenticated user?

Am I being unreasonable?   :-\

Agree, would make sense for me too.

Not sure how easy (haven't looked at the code) but could be an nice extension to remove captcha to authenticated users

a good way to feel better about whinging is to fix the problem so should feel free to investigate why this is the case :)

it might just be bad config.  if not it might be a bug.  if not it might be a missing feature.  in each case you could take a step to fix it

hey there,

i don't think you need to know php to figure out if it is bad config / a bug / a missing feature, or to file the bug report or feature request.  You only need to know PHP if you want to fix the bug or implement the feature request (doing the first few things and seeing if someone else will do the parts that need PHP skills is a good start :)
