Editing Personal Campaign Pages
November 16, 2012, 09:42:27 am
I have a civi 4.2.4 site where I have several events configured. After signing up for an event or after donating to our campaign cause, the user has the oppurtunity to create a PCP. I am having a hard time setting up some sort of way for users to easily access and update their pcp pages.   ???

Ideally I would like my system to work as follows:
1. I use a joomla login page for users to log in to the site.
2. This currently takes my users to a joomla profile page. I would like logging in to automatically bring the user to the edit version of their PCP.

Is this doable? Joomla/Civi offers a menu option for view personal campaign page but that only allows me to select one specific persons pcp page. I would like a redirect to the users page immediately after login.

Any ideas?

One approach which "should" work is to set your permissions so that 'Registered' group has "CiviCRM: access Contact Dashboard". Then create a menu item for that - permissioned for 'Registered' group. The contact dashboard provides a link to edit the logged in user's PCP (or to create one). Screenshot attached. Note that you can control which section appear on the Contact Dashboard from CiviCRM > Administer > Customize Data & Screens > Display Preferences

HOWEVER, I hit a unexpected fatal error when I tried to use this approach on the public Joomla demo - and I've filed an issue for that at:
