Captcha and Joomla
November 21, 2012, 05:18:04 am
As far as I can tell, turning on the Captcha behaviour in Joomla (useful for protecting Joomla contact forms and registration) prevents CiviCRM profiles that allow/mandate user logins from working. Can anyone else replicate this, and if so is there anything that can be done to avoid the clash?

I'm using the same Captcha account for the whole site - I've not investigated whether using different accounts would make a difference.

in drupal, the way we get around this is to disable the "captcha" form if we are within a civicrm context (i.e. creating users etc). We achieve this via drupal hooks

i suspect we'll need to do a similar approach with joomla and wordpress. If you can investigate and submit a patch for joomla that would be cool
