Blog Dashboard Widget?

Hey, I was thinking about whipping up a dashboard widget that displays the latest articles from the CiviCRM blog and making it the default for new installs. It would demonstrate the dashboard while helping people stay connected with us.

What rights do I need to access the SMF forum admin area?  I get "You are not allowed to access this section" when I tried to access it.   :(

It's full-on forum management - which obviously only a few people have (well not that few) - anyway - I've taken a screen shot & attached it

Hi,

Great idea!

Would it be too pushy to have a widget that displays the open MiH too (around a "you can shape the next version" msg)?

Might be more useful to offer the widget(s) only to admins

anything to promote the blog would be good - my sense is that readership - well at least comment-count-wise has dropped off since the site revamp - to test the hypothesis I threw together a View to show Comment Count - then did a rolling average over 10 blogs and charted it - threw in a trend line for good measure

ah nope - rolling average over 10 blogs - so unless there had been 10 consecutive with 0 comments you want see any at 0
