custom fields being dropped from views
November 29, 2012, 07:54:25 pm
Hi guys,

Trying to debug a site that someone else set up where the custom fields setup in civicrm for user profiles are being dropped from the views at what seems like random intervals due to 'missing relationships'.

One of the views, for example, displays the username (drupal field), first name (civicrm contact field), last name (civicrm contact field) and updated (civicrm custom field - just a checkbox that the user ticks once they've updated their profile) in a table. The view's default sort is by the updated field (so only users with updated profiles show at the top of the table results of +1500 users)

The view works, but sometimes twice in 1 hour, sometimes once in 2 days, the updated column will disappear from the results table. When i open the view up it automatically is asking me to save saying that fields were removed because of missing/broken relationships.

I've done a fair bit of searching and seem some issues for users who've upgraded to 4.2 and their custom fields aren't able to be added to the views. Mine can be added but they just keep disappearing!

I'm using D7.17, Views 3.5 & civicrm 4.1

I've checked my settings.php file to make sure the table structure has been added correctly, ive tried clearing caches, cron, etc but can't seem to work out what causes the fields to automatically drop from the views :(

Oh and I also saw a post on here saying the views have to be set up as Type: user to view the custom data fields which they have been.

I've attached 2 screenshots - 1 is how the view looks pre-drop (with a red arrow pointing to the field in question) and 2 is how it looks after it's been dropped.

I'm not new to drupal but am new to civicrm and views of this level of complexity so any assistance/guidance would be greatly appreciated :)

FYI this is happening to other views (there's something like 50 in total) as well and as far as I can tell it's only effecting fields from this particular group of custom fields set in Civicrm

Thanks

Have tried the patch (and also upgraded to 4.2.6 civicrm) but no luck. Will continue discussion in other thread as it's the same issue.
