Cividiscount

Hi All

We have a project where we see the need to use the CiviDiscount Extension.

I've been testing it with SVN release of 4.2.7 and everything seems to be working pretty well.

We have two issues/changes that I think would then meet the need of our clients.

1. Ability to have a discount based on the number of participants. i.e. if two or more participants then a discount should be applied to each participant/total cost.

2. Integration with CiviEvent Cart. At the moment the cart doesn't seem to take into account discounts. I haven't thoroughly tested this through yet but the discount code definately did not show.

There are a few other issues i.e. the Email address seems to be showing up twice on event registrations etc but I think these are to due to the dev taking place on the branch in general and not necessarily related to the discount extension.

We'd like to help get the extension completed and make the enhancement if it seems like something the community would benefit from.

Thanks

Donald Lobo

we are getting close to finishing cividiscount. glad to hear u can test it etc :)

Can you take over item 2 (i.e. integration with cart). The event cart stuff was contributed code, and would be nice to have someone like veda help maintain and improve it :)

I'm hoping kurund and/or keith will answer question 1. Not sure what the module does with multiple partiicpants

1. Ability to have a discount based on the number of participants. i.e. if two or more participants then a discount should be applied to each participant/total cost.

You should check _allow_multiple()  in cividiscount.php, by default it returns false. It you modify code to return true discount option will be available for additional participants if multiple participant feature is enabled.

We need to make this admin configurable settings.

Thanks Kurund/Lobo, we'll take a look once 4.2.7 is released.

Any word on when 4.2.7 is going to be released? Originally I'd heard by the first or so of December, but now we're more than a week in.

Thanks!

no firm date as yet, but i suspect in the next week or so

we need a lot more help with folks writing tests for a release, maintaining infrastructure, ensuring upgrades work for most / all test cases etc. If you are interested in more timely and frequent releases please consider helping out

I can help with things like testing. Unfortunately, I'm not a big company (it's just me) and thanks to some clients taking forever to pay lately, there is no extra funds for me to throw in anything like that. I'm not a PHP coder (I know a little), so it's not the kind of thing that I could help code. But I am more than happy to help with testing and such. I just don't know how to use svn to grab the latest 4.2.7.
