CivicRM Multi-site (Wordpress & Drupal) Image errors
November 30, 2012, 09:43:30 am
Greetings;

Seeing as there isnt an install folder for 'multi-site', I figured I'd post on the page where the issues were occurring.

I'm currently working on a multi-site deployment of civicrm, where I'm cross platforming so to speak.

One domain is a wordpress site with the intention of this being the 'members' site, where users can login to a members only area running buddypress (not the issue on this topic), which is managed by civicrm.

The 2nd is a domain which will be used by very few people (only a subset of admins) for managing the pledge, contacts, contributions, and more.  This is run on drupal.

I installed drupal version fine, and then installed the wordpress version (the database is shared on the drupal database, wordpress is its own database).  The two are currently talking nicely, and as we're not using too many unique users on the drupal deploy, there shouldn't be too many issues there.

The first issue I've run into so far is that the images on the drupal site are now being directed to the 2nd domain, or at least to /wp-content/plugins/civicrm/...  as opposed to the drupal civicrm media location.  I suspect this is the result of a 'media' setting in the database being replaced.

Is there a database solution for this problem?  I suspect I could probably do a directory link (or sync the files) so that the drupal directory behind the schenes links to the wordpress media directory.  I'm waiting on the webmaster to get access for the ftp site, so a database solution would be more preferable

Thanks in advance,
DMP

PS:  On a somewhat unrelated note (for those who might do this in the future) - this did delete the first database that was used on drupal/civicrm.

To clarify, are you using Civi's multisite feature? i.e. is there more than one entry in the civicrm_domain table?
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.
