Automatically adding anonymous event subscribers to groups or at least a queue
March 11, 2008, 09:52:55 pm
Successfully created event form viewable by anonymous users.

However, when they (we) fill out the form, they are not added to the group.

Is it possible to have anonymous event subscribers added to a group automatically?  -- or at least to a queue so that admins can then add them to the group?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

We can search for them and add them manually, but we wouldn't ordinarily have any warning a) that someone has filled out the form or b) who they are -- so we wouldn't know how to find them.

Thank you.

David

Did you use a custom profile? You create them under administer civiCRM and can opt to have users added to a group & to be notifed when they are filled in

Thanks, Eileen. Yes, I created a custom profile.  I'll go through it another time.  I appreciate your willingness to share your insight into the problem.

Just thinking too - if it's anonyous users you want then anonymous users will need a bunch of permissions - to edit data in profiles & add people to groups - do they have these?

I am forcing everyone to join drupal and only offering the register link to users with a drupal account (I had to hack event_info.tpl to do this - there is a forum item on this somewhere)
