Integration civiCRM with Joomla Community Builder
December 03, 2012, 03:50:31 am
Hi, I am on the Community Builder (CB) core team with is Joomla's most popular social networking framework.

The concept behind CB is that Joomla users get profiles that contain extra fields (definable via backend) of different types (text, integer, file, date, textarea, checkbox, radio, etc).

I am exploring the following integration concepts:

1. Display CB fields in civiCRM backend
2. Display civiCRM fields in CB areas
3. Sync CB fields with civiCRM fields and versa
4. provide link in civiCRM back to CB profile for each user

I am willing to put some effort into this integration but I would need a civiCRM developer to invest some time with me in order to understand the civiCRM API.

Would love to listen to your thoughts on this concept.

Hi,

Has some progress been made in the integration? In general, if there is anything you'd suggest mentioning around J! and Civi, let me know, I'm presenting at Joomla and beyond soon, I'd want to highlight what has been done in the community.

Actually, I am also presenting at JAB13 here:

Maybe we can discuss and hook up there ...

What are the benefits with this integration? I'm just curious and want to get some idea.
