Mail Test works, Mailing test doesn't
December 03, 2012, 03:37:40 pm
I've got a puzzling situation:
When I test the global mail settings, I can receive test my via either php method or smtp.
When I go to send a mailing, however, it says that it is sending test mail, but no mailing comes through.

Any insight would be appreciated. Let me know what information might help debug the issue, and I will happily post it.

i think the big difference is the VERP address and From email settings between the test mail and real mail

who's your smtp provider? you might need to get them to relax the permissions on the From/Reply-to headers of email sent

Okay, so, I've been wresting with this for a while.
It was actually only after enabling VERP that I could get the mailing test to work properly. Now, however, I am stuck with a scheduled mailing that I can't get to send. (I also have a scheduled mailing that I'm trying to delete, but that just spawns a copy, but that's really another issue). I played with crontab a bit trying to get things to work, but I think it might make sense to first address the fact that I can't get mail to send using the: Wordpress: http://[SITEROOT]/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/bin/cron.php?name=username&pass=password&key=site-key method. It doesn't throw an error or anything, just comes up with a blank page, but still, nothing is sent. The 'settings > scheduled jobs' page says 'no settings, never, no' for all of the various jobs.

What are the possible reasons that the manual poke method would fail silently?
