I'm frustrated.  I have recently upgraded to civicrm 4.2.4, and there have been a few problems that I have had to work out.  However, one I am struggling with.

Each time a person tries to register on the site (not through civicrm profile but simply joomla registration, there is a blank screen.  Error reporting shows the error:

Fatal Error class 'CRM_Core_Config_Variables' not found in ..... line 43. 

I've search the forum, and people usually get this error on upgrade or running scripts, so the posts have been now help.

The error also appeared when trying to delete a joomla user - I solved this by unpublishing the CiviCRM User Management plugin, as this sync the contact and user records in the deletion process, and now I can delete.  But creation of a joomla user is still a problem.

I require a solution which will either:

1.  Resolve the syncing issue to remove the fatal error

or

2.  Prevent Joomla and Civicrm from talking to one another when a joomla user is created as to prevent the error from occuring (i don't need the contact record for individual users as we only use civicrm for events and managing organisations we are partnered with)

Please help as this is quite urgent!
