Problem with batch update via profile

I want to do a Membership update via a "batch update with profile", but if I include a Membership field in the profile, the profile I create does not show up in the dropdown menu. I tried including only Membership fields, not setting a "used for" and multiple other combinations. I find this inexplicable. What I need to do is to find a bunch of contacts and update their membership as a batch (setting their start date). Is this a common problem or am I doing something wrong somewhere?

Hey

You have to create profile for membership with membership fields like "membership start date".You can check this on demo of CiviCRM 4.2 and its working .Which CiviCRM version your using?

I don't see that it is working. I created a profile "membership" in the demo site with a single field "membership start date". Find contacts, select a few, choose "batch update via profile" and the profile does not show in the dropdown menu. Same thing happens in my site. Could you elaborate?

Hey

You want update membership data right ? So Just go to Membership -> Find Members  and than search member, choose "batch update via profile", you will able to see your profile in dropdown.

If you want to batch update of contact than only you have to use   Find Contacts  and choose "batch update via profile" and than update contact.
