Upgrade Script goes to user one.
December 10, 2012, 01:05:23 pm
I have an upgrade from 4.1 to 4.26 that isn't working.

When I click on the upgrade script it just goes to user/1 and not upgrade screen and no upgrade to the database.

It appears to have 4.26 functionality but the db has not been updated so it crashes on certain functions [event fees, payments processor etc] It says fields don't exist.

I tried to run a new install to a different db and then port the structure and then data but because the structure is different it keeps throwing errors

Is there a way to rectify this without losing all my db data and starting over?

What do you mean by "click on the upgrade script" ? You mean you visit

civicrm/upgrade?reset=1

and then click on the button there?

You can't necessarily do your "structure" port idea however because the upgrade procedure itself "ports" data across tables, so you would lose that. The structure port idea is useful to rebuild a damaged DB so that you could then run the upgrader.

Yes This is what I did

and then click on the button there?

this only goes to the user/1 page and not the upgrade page

Ok

Not sure. Is anything recorded in the Drupal watchdog? Or in the server error log?

What version of Drupal is this?

SOLVED
I changed the theme to bartik reverted to a backup version of the db and then the upgrade script ran without any problems.

Sigh ... simple yet so complicated.
