Mass Mailings and timezone issues

I have an environment where the MySQL database time zone is 6 hours behind the PHP time zone.   This is resulting in scheduled mass mailings going out 6 hours late.     

I have considered changing the global time zone for the MySQL database, but this would negatively affect other environments on that server who are currently in the same time zone as the MySQL db.

Any suggestions as to get the mailings going out at the correct time?

I don't have any. Your server is inherently contradicting itself by using two time zones. :)

I would say just train the staff to schedule the mailers 6 hours earlier or later.
