Is there a way to mark contacts as part of a cycle?
December 12, 2012, 12:35:57 am
Hey guys,

My company offers a software to other companies, so we need to manage our customers and potential customers with great care.
Many service companies use the sales cycle (which has various stages that defines the contact's current situation), for example "Requested more information" "Requesting Price" "Feedback (Positive/Negative?) etc.

My question is whether there is a field in CiviCRM (for each contact) to enter such information? This would be beneficial when I assign activities to an employee, then this field will indicate (in less than a second) the purpose of a follow-up.

Thanks

xavier

Hi,

If you want to deal with sales, it might be worthwhile you compare what sugar or vtiger offer, that's on what they focus.

As for civi, some entities got status (eg. activity) or you can create a "sales cycle" custom field for that purpose.

You could also see what you can do with CiviCase. But I agree with Xavier that Sugar or Vtiger might be a better match :-)

Thanks guys :)

I am not really interested in Sugar or vtiger as they are 'Sales-dedicated' systems and I only need a simple slot to display the customer's status. I will try creating a custom field as you suggested.

Thanks again :)
