Report Display Column "Total Amount Paid" gives "DB Error: no such field"

Hi, I am attempting to configure the Pledge Summary Report's Display Columns options, but one (Total Amount Paid) always throws an error ... here's the play-by-play recap:

1. Occurred when attempting to update the report - several "Display Columns" options & "Available for Dashboard".

2. Backed out of error, added all available dashlets to dashboard (PSR not available)

3. Returned to report, first updated "Available for Dashboard" (successfully), then added preferred options ... same error.

4. Removed all "Display Columns" options, updated successfully

5. Added "Display Columns" options one-by-one:
   Contact ID: ok
   Email: ok
   Frequency Unit: ok
   Installments: ok
   Pledge Made Date: ok
   Pledge Start Date: ok
   Pledge End Date: ok
>   Total Amount Paid: Error > disabled, continued ...
   Address Name, Street Address, Supplementary Address Field 1, Supplementary Address Field 2, Street Number, Street Name, Street Unit, City, Postal Code, County, State/Province, Country = All ok
>   re-enabled "Total Amount Paid": Error repeats ... bad choice option!

6. Searched Forums ... several/various "DB Error" and "no such field" posts, some with various "code fixes" (outside my scope/knowledge), but nothing exactly like this event for this report.

7. Posted to Forum: Help please!  Error screenshot attached.

Hello Lobo,

The Pledge Summary Report (template) is/was not available on the demo site.

Curiously, I also don't see it in my Reports Listing page either ... but it is listed in the Reports menu drop-down (was there with the install, didn't make any custom reports) ... and this is true for two different sites / installations (used the Joomla 'alt' install package for both).

pledges are now enabled on the joomla demo.

Thanks ... link to Admin area from Home page is missing, but the /administrator path worked.

Unfortunately/Likewise, the exact same error for this report (alone and/or with other options).

Side Q: how do I add the Pledge Reports section under the Reports Listing page?

just doing a search seems to work for me

ENsure you've enabled the Pledge Component, in Administer CiviCRM >> System Settings

Total Amount Paid still returns the error on this latest link ... as if with no payments (yet) received/recorded this column object doesn't have anything to process/doesn't like null or "$0.00".  (?)

My bad on not searching/reading the documentation re: enabling - thanks for the quick answer!   :-[

This Error IS reproducable on the drupal demo server

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/report/pledge/detail?reset=1

if you check the box 'total_paid' you get a fatal error (this worked in 3.4 / 4.0 - I can't speak for 4.2). I have a customer who uses it who has just upgraded so I'm taking a look now.

NB it appears to be  a bad query not a data issue as it is referencing a field that doesn't exist
