Membership Dues Set Up, Now How to Create a Registration Page?
December 12, 2012, 01:01:56 pm
I'm just switching over from using a Drupal store to CiviCRM for member management and payment of dues. I created all of the membership types I need in CiviCRM, but now I don't know how to set up a registration page. I've been following the instructions here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/Drupal+installation+and+configuration+example but they seem to get a bit tangled at this point.

For reference, this is the page I'm trying to recreate using CiviCRM: http://sfra.org/membership

You need to set up a Contribution page and enable the Membership section

You should find what you need here - http://book.civicrm.org/user/current/membership/setup/

Think link was very helpful, thank you!

Now, I have set up 'price sets' for the different membership options at my organization. I notice that it only lets me associate one set with each contribution page. Is this correct?

So if I want to offer several sets, I just link to each separate 'contribution page' from a static 'membership options' page?

Sorry if that is a bit confusing..!

Yes you can have multiple Contribution pages, each with a different 'offering' of memberships, but of course they don't act like a 'cart' - each one is a distinct transaction

Ah yes, I see what you're saying... While I could have people purchase multiple options in a 'price set', I lose the 'cart' function. I'll play with that a bit now... I think I have a solution. Thanks!

Edit: Perhaps I can't do this... I'm getting radio buttons when I add various options to a contribution page. If I create a price set, I can set them to check boxes though. Is it possible to change a page to check boxes, or will I have to redo my price sets?

Edit Edit: Now I'm getting a conflict in that I have multiple memberships belonging to the same organization. This is intentional, and I do not see why this would cause an error. I'm sure there is a perfectly good reason, I just can't see it.

Yes, it does. It looks like I can just add a bunch of different 'organizations', even though the different membership types are for the same organization. Seems like a lot of duplication of efforts though, would this be the appropriate way to do it?
