Merging Relationship Type and Custom Data Field Autocomplete

Hi, I need some help on this issue: I need to recreate the 'Current Employer' field. I know that this particular field is a special one in the sense it creates relationships and contacts at the same time. I need specific help on how to create a new custom data field which creates relationships as well as contacts.

might want to check the webform_civicrm module which allows you to do this in a nice form
