Recurring Donation E-mails Not Sending - Bug or Just Me?

With CiviCRM 4.2.4 for Wordpress, using PaypalPro as my payment processor, neither the Recurring Start notification nor the standard receipt e-mail is sent when a new recurring donation is created by a user - though the donation completes successfully and when I go to view the contribution, CiviCRM claims (falsely) that a receipt was sent at the appropriate time.

Another Wordpress site I manage uses PaypalPro with CiviCRM 4.1.2 - and on that site, recurring donations work perfectly.

Looking into CiviCRM's innards, it looks like there was a substantial rewrite of some of the relevant code between the two versions, which could easily have produced a bug - but before I go too far down that path, I'd like to ask:

Is there anyone out there who is successfully using CiviCRM 4.2.4 or later to process recurring donations?
If so, is there anyone out there doing so with either Wordpress OR PaypalPro?
If so, is there anyone successfully processing recurring donations with CiviCRM 4.2.4 or later, AND Wordpress, AND Paypal Pro?

Having had no replies here, I can only infer that there is nobody using this particular combination who reads this forum. I will see if I can reproduce the bug on my test server, first confirming that recurring donations work properly with the last version of CiviCRM before the big rewrite of applicable code, then upgrading to the first version AFTER the rewrite - obviously if that stops the recurring donation e-mails from working, then the rewrite is indeed the problem, and I'll see what I can do to isolate things from there, and add it to the tracker when I'm as far as I can get on my own.

Hello grandesigns,

After looking into this, I have one idea. Go to Administer-->System settings-->Outbound Email, and double check that Outbound Email is not disabled.

I'll keep looking, but as it stands, that is the only possibility I've found to this point.

Hi Jason,

Outbound e-mail is not disabled, and all mail pertaining to non-recurring donations sends properly. I continue to believe that there was a bug added somewhere between 4.1.2 and the current version that applies to only recurring donations...
