CiviCRM for Joomla 3.X

When can we expect to see the first version made for Joomla 3.X?

We've building a new, and hopefully a very robust and modern web site that can leverage many of the great features found in civiCRM. Since the site is new, it's being built based upon Joomla 3.x which isn't, as I understand it supported by the current, 4.2.6 version of civiCRM. Is there a timeline for when civiCRM will be released with support for Joomla 3.x? I would be happy right now with an alpha or beta version with Joomla 3.x support.

No one is currently working on a 3.x port. Would be very useful if folks can take a look and see what needs to be done to convert the Civi 2.5.x package to 3.x. We are hoping and suspect not too many changes

if you need help / assistance getting started, please ping us on IRC

Thanks for the replay. I also hope that someone can get it working on Joomla 3.x soon.

Fred:

if your site is building a new website that is dependent on joomla 3.x and civi 4.x, would help if u'll can contribute resources towards getting this to work

i suspect if all of us wait for someone else to do it, it will not get done :(

I would be happy to contribute, if I could, but I'm a newbe to both Joomla and civiCRM.

in that case, we'd recommend u stick to using a version of joomla that civi is compatible with, i.e. v2.5.x
