I'm new to CiviCRM but so excited to be able to use it for our non-profit. What we want to accomplish, and this was one of the reasons we chose to go with CiviCRM is because it allows us to set up PCP's, now we do have some people who have donated outside of CiviCRM and we would like to give them the opportunity to set up their own PCP's without having to donate again. I noticed that this is one of the great features with CiviCRM. It says in the user guide:

"After PCP creation has been enabled, there are two ways to create a PCP:
An individual donating to a contribution page or registering for an event are given
the option to build their own PCP via a button on the 'thank you' page.
If the individual forgets to click the link upon donation, or you wish to give all
visitors the opportunity to create a PCP without the prerequisite of donating or
registering themselves, you can give your constituents a direct link. This link could
be emailed to the constituent, embedded in a page or added as a menu item. Note

YOUR-SITE.ORG: enter your domain's address
CONTRIBUTION_OR_EVENT_ID: give the ID number of the event or contribution
page. This can be obtained through navigating to 'Manage Events' or 'Manage
Contribution Pages' and looking for the ID against the item in question."

However, I've changed the required information (YOUR-SITE.ORG and the CONTRIBUTION_OR_EVENT_ID) but I get a 404 error.

If any of you highly intelligent peeps know how to fix my big problem with this link, please let me know. Thanks if advance!

Thanks for your reply, but I'm not getting the results, or maybe I'm just unclear with what you suggested. Can you maybe elaborate or point me in the right direction? Thanks.

make sure you are on Civi v4.2.6

other than that, not sure what else might be going wrong with your install
