On our front-end event registration, we use a profile to automatically add contacts to a specific group when they register for events. Wondering if there is any way to do the same for backend/admin event registrations?

without some custom coding / hooks (maybe rules?),this is not possible

front end uses profiles, back end does not (this was initially done so u can add more fields via the backend)

However an admin can emulate a front end user by sending in cid=0 and hence going via the front end process. a bit round about, but it works
