I have a client that's concerned with the way that their donors have to enter pledges.  Apparently there has been some confusion as to the "Contribution Amount" - whether it is the total amount they want to give or the amount they'll be giving every month (year, etc).


I understand the logic of the system, and we've tried to add language to that page indicating how the donors are to use the form - However, as we know, people don't read directions... thus, confusion persists.

I'm curious to see if anyone's modified the contribution pages at all to change the way data is entered?  I suppose the ideal desire would be to emulate the way that pledges are entered on the backend. 

That is, the user would enter their total desired gift and then the system would calculate the installment amount based on total gift / #of installments. 

(of course, i recognize that this could add additional confusion and lead to more frustration by staff and donors...)

Any thoughts, use cases, etc would be most helpful!  Thanks!
