Strange bug in Manage Events Page
January 03, 2013, 09:24:43 am
Shortly before we upgraded our site to 4.2.6 on Drupal 7, I was informed of a strange bug on the Manage Events page (/civicrm/event/manage?reset=1)

See attachment.

When the 'search' button on the page is clicked, the visual errors disappear. Normally I would attempt to fix this myself, but on this occasion I do not know where to start. Any ideas what could be wrong?

All the red links to non-existent events; I don't think it's by design. Sorry I wasn't clear enough.

Are they nonexistent or where they just disabled or deleted?

The event information on each link appears as if it may have been an event at some point, and then deleted/disabled.

Each of these 'events' are not 'active' and have no information other than some location data, shouldn't they disappear from this view if deleted? Now leads me to believe that they were deleted in the database tables directly, but looking at the IDs; it would have been some time ago.

I'm not sure what this is. I would give a look in the DB and see.

I had a look in the database and discovered that for each of the (52) events, a record exists.

Each event record has information, though not very much (more NULL than anything). The dates of these records range from June to December 2012, and it appears they were created by the same user ??? around the same time a 'similar' event was created.

I'll investigate the error more thoroughly to determine exactly when this occurs and update you. (the team are still on holidays so it may be a week or two yet!!)

Thanks for your time so far  :)

You might wanna upgrade to 4.2.7 and check if the bug still exists for you.
