Custom event tpl causing payment block to not show.

I created an event last year that we are going to be using again. The event had a custom tpl file to change some wording. It was working just fine last year, but then when I looked at it this year the payment section is not there. So I recreated the event, created a folder with the correct event id in my custom folder and added the register.tpl to it. I did not make any changes to the file. I went back to look at the event and the payment screen is still missing. Is there currently a bug, or is there something I maybe missing that is causing this?

Have you upgraded CiviCRM in the past year? If so, the template customization must be redone.

How do I redo them? I just created a brand new template with no changes and it did not work. Do I have to point to another path?

Is the brand new one a copy of the one from your current code base?

First thing is to remove the customized one altogether and make sure the system works as is. If it still fails, then look at the page in Firefox with Firebug and look for errors in the Net or Console tabs.

I am taking the register.tpl from here www/sites/all/civicrm/templates/CRM/Event/Form/Registration and placing it in my custom folder with the same folder structure and placing it in a new folder with the event number. When I add it, the billing block goes away. When I remove the tpl file the billing block shows on the event registration. I looked at firebug and I do not see any errors listed.

Hi. Looks like you just copied it wrong. I copied that template for you now and the page works fine.

That is strange, I did it a couple of times:( Was I grabbing it from the wrong area www/sites/all/civicrm/templates/CRM/Event/Form/Registration ?

Yes, you were.

sites/all/civicrm is not a valid location. CiviCRM should not be there.

CiviCRM works in sites/all/modules/civicrm and that's where your "real" copy is.
