I am unable to display Civicrm Contact_ID

I want to display the contact id of civicrm, I have added it to the memberhsip profile as view only, but when the user clicks to edit their profile only the label appears and not the actual CIVICRM ID.  However if I click the CIVICRM view profile page it displays, is there no way to show the id on the edit screen and if not why would it even show the label but a blank area where the value would be?

I know its not a permission issue because the internal id is set to view on public pages, and its viewable on the "view profile page"  its just not visible on the  "edit profile page"

I suspect the default value for that is not assigned and hence does not show up. I suspect no one has tried this so far and hence the below.  contact_id is not supposed to be editable and on the edit page the behavior should be;

1. The field and label and shown but the value is frozen and non-editable

2. The field and label are suppressed

would be great if you can take a look at the current code and figure out what is happening and why and provide a patch. We can help out on IRC

Yes thats shat I assumed too the label shown the civicrm_contact.id shown but not editable, I will have to get with you on IRC

what server and channel do you guys ususally setup in?
