Different Price set for membership signups and renewals
January 11, 2013, 11:40:04 pm
Hi There!

I have a client that charges a one-off registration fee for new signups.  However this is part of the price set I am using for the online contribution page.

When the member needs to renew, I do not want to show t he one off registration fee (curently it is a market required and default)

Anyone know a way to solve this?
Thanks

The easiest way might be to do this via a jQuery snippet in .extra.tpl

I would do the following:

1. For new membership, let the js enforce the required and mark it as default

2. For renewing membership, let the js hide that field

Hello vishram74,

You could try copying the price set, renaming it, removing the one-off fee, and replacing the OCP's price set with the newly renamed copy... tried on the demo and it worked.

Cheers,
Jason

Hi Jason
Thanks for your reply.
Can you please explain more about how you solved this?

Sorry - bit slow!
 ;D

A lot of people use separate contribution pages for renewal & sign-up. If you do  that you can easily use different pricesets on the 2 pages & configure them differently

Hi Eileen

Thanks for that.  That's exactly what we did!
