Getting a 404 error with Cronjob
January 13, 2013, 09:18:31 pm
I am using the following url to setup my corncobs:

http://50.116.122.120/~presby/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/bin/cron.php?name=USERNAME&pass=PASSWORD&key=SITEKEY

However, it does not work and when i type it into the url I get a 404 error. Any suggestions?

Does the file cron.php exist in that location on the server?

Then check the permissions and ask your host why it won't execute.

permissions are set to 755. I will check with my host, I just wanted to check and make sure I was not doing something wrong.

Thanks!

Still not able to get my CiviMail to trigger. Most recently, I have tried setting up the wget with POST method using these directions:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/CiviMail+Installation

However, I am getting the following error:

wget: Unknown command `ost-data' in civicrm-wgetrc at line 1.

Any help? Thanks.

You must first get the simple URL method in the browser to work. If that fails, I don't see reason to think any other method will work.

Did you ask your host for help? What did they say?

I spoke with my host but they could not give me any help. They made sure my htaccess file was correct and that my permissions were set to 755. They said there was no reason that my php files should not run correctly. But it seems that all the php files are giving me 404 errors. Any suggestions?

A 404 error means "page not found": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_404

If your host can't help with a basic error such as that, I would suggest you find a new host.
