CiviCRM's integrated payment processing
January 14, 2013, 02:58:12 pm
Hi - The nonprofit organization I work for started using Civi as a database about 10 months ago and in the fall we began using its integrated payment processing (we use Authorize.net for merchant processing) for online donations.  We loved the integrated payment processing at first but have gone back to our old system.  We put all of our contributions under the household record if it exists.  We were finding that with the integrated processing duplicates were being created because of those making the online donation were using a different email address or a nickname instead of the name we already had.  Additionally, if the individual making a gift had a household, we had to delete the gift under the individual and add it to the household.  It has turned out to be more labor intense and inefficient than we thought.  We love it for processing cc payments when we have a large fundraising event, but at other times it doesn't seem to work for us.

Anyone gone through this?  Have suggestions?  Thanks.
