CiviDiscount Error

I have installed the CiviDiscount extension and I can setup discount codes but when the extension is enabled I get the following error when I try to view the event info or registration pages:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /home/nyaprs/public_html/registration/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1281"

If I disable the extension it is all fine. The install is CiviCRM 4.2 with WordPress 3.5.

Any Thoughts??
